AKA Rasher's jornal-thingy. Want to go back?
Writing this in the halftime of the final. As the score is now 1-1, my previous prediction (1-0 in Italy's favour) is obviously not going to work out.
Updated prediction: Italy scores another goal in the first 20 minutes, similar to the first one (high ball in the box headed in) and wins 2-1.
The last week has been very uneventful. I've been living in my parents' house since last friday. They were going on vacation, and their wishes of having someone to look after the house and water their plants mixed well with my wishes of getting a bit of fresh air and lying in the sun.
So I've basically just been doing nothing but lying down and watching television all week. Tomorrow they come home, and I'll go home as well.
Now the World Cup is nearly over, luckily the Tour de France is just getting started, so it all works out in the end, and I have some sport to waste my time on.
For the World Cup final, I predict a 0-1 win for Italy over France. I'm sure history will come back to bite me in the ass on that.
As for the Tour de France, I have absolutely no predictions. All bets are off by now, with everyone considered a favourite before the Tour, no longer riding. If I had to mention a name, I guess it'd be Klöden, but I'd be unable to tell you why.
I've been working on an updated version of the journal, which will feature commenting and some sort of file-attachments (that means pictures, I guess). It's going to look absolutely the same though, I'm afraid.
That's all for now.
Today, I've moved a handy 2200 kgs of roof tiles onto the roof of my parents garage/shed. That is, I moved them from the ground up to the bottom of the roof, and my father took them from there to around the roof. Some more to move tomorrow, and then we start distributing them evenly on the roof, rather than the handy 8-piece 23kg lumps they're in now.
Needless to say, my arms (and legs) are killing me. Just hope it's not too bad, in the morning.
Today I had my last exam of this year, and now it's holiday time until the end of August when I've completely forgotten everything. The exam went suprisingly well, I think - results will not be available for another couple of weeks.
That's it, nothing else happened so far today.
Today was just a long string of unfortunate events, one after another. For starters, I got up somewhat later than I had planned to, but that's not the worst thing that can happen, but you'll see later how that came back to haunt me.
After that, I was in a bit of a rush, because I wanted to get the time to go shopping for a Lord Of the Rings 1-3 boxed set (2-disc versions) for 99 DKK and still have time left before I had to be at work.
Well arrived at Kvickly, I found the DVDs and a few other items, but when I was checking out, it turned out I had no cash and had left my credit card at home. The checkout person was cool enough about it, and I just had to fetch my card at home and pay somewhere else in the shop.
So I raced home, found the card after looking through everything and hurried back. By now, the time where I was supposed to be at work was nearing dangerously fast and I was getting somewhat stressed out. Paid for everything and went home again.
Bummer. Turns out I locked myself out of my apartment in my rush to find the card and get back. So now I have frozen goods and no key to get to the other side of the door. Called to see if I could get hold of a spare key (which I have placed strategically close to me), but noone was home, so that's my cunning plan foiled right there.
In the end, I just had to go to work and use some left-over uniform that was lying around there. Luckily there's a huge freezer there with plenty of room for my stuff.
Ind the end though, I did manage to buy the LoTR set, get to work and home again. I guess everything panned out afterall, but with a lot of additional stress that I really didn't need.
