Tales from a strange world

AKA Rasher's jornal-thingy. Want to go back?

Indeed I haven't updated.

As I said, I've ben not-updating for a while. This has two reasons:

Ok, while not being entirely true, that was odd. Actually I got my monitor on wednesday and it's nice. I spent the weekend compiling and recompiling MPlayer - a completely neat Movie player for Linux.

Oh and I did a section for aglami stuff. It can be found here (not referenced anywhere else for now).

Oh

Oh, my outrage was pointless. They did ship the monitor, and the carrier was here today, but nobody to get the thing. So it's arriving tomorrow instead. Can't wait now.

Oh and I urge everyone to go find errors in my english homework for thursday. Yes, that is cheating, but who cares? :o)

HATE!

They didn't ship the monitor today, so it won't be arriving tomorrow. I hate them.

That's it, move along now.

A thing!

Philips 107b20 - I bought oneI bought a new monitor! Yay and w00t! It's a Philips 107b20 and is apparently quite nice. There's a picture of it nearby.

Other than that, nothing really interesting happened today. I got the CenterICQ cvs source and is now debating if I should compile it. On a related note, I compiled a new kernel and Nvidia drivers. AGP still doesn't work for me (... argh!), but I did apply the preemptable kernel patch. I'm not sure what difference it'll make, but I'm all for new stuff these days (as long as it works).

Theparty has sponsors for network, prices and internet now - looking to be a great party. Søren and I will be going to Germany some time after the 10th to get RedBull and Jolt, which is essential to a party (it is now, at least).

I talked to one of the other computer-dudes at work and it looks we'll be starting a class for web-designing, with the purpose of designing a page for the School(ish) thing. After the design and content is in place, it'll be my (or unlikely, Henrik's (the other dude)) job to create the backend for a content-management ish system. Joy.

And then stuff happened.

OK, the week with the scouts was fine, we enjoyed late-night movie watching, setting things on fire and a bit of drinking. And I was ill on Wednesday - bad asthma attack.

We had the election on Tuesday and I voted. The right-wing won, though. It's not that bad though, because on many of the important issues, they'll have to rely on the main left-wing party so we'll get by I suppose. (There, I'm starting to write personal stuff on the net, I'm morally corrupted now).

Lots of driving this week, too. I even got to borrow the car without parents wanting to be in it - major breakthrough.

Well home I spent saturday and most of sunday doing nothing. Finally sunday afternoon I went and set up my stereo and the last bits of my computer which I had brought to the place.

Today I started doing a website for the school-thingy I work at. It's not really a school, but I'm not sure how to explain it. It's for kids, they can go there in the evening, there's some teaching of different stuff, and then a "club" thingy, which is where I currently work. Once I'm comfortable with it all, I might be teaching "web-design" (oh goodie, that'll be the day). Anyway, the current site looks like this and the boss isn't very satisfied. It'll have to have PHP and [some]SQL though if I'm to do the niftyness he requires, so I'm currently looking into how that'll be done.

I'm considering if I should keep writing this journal thing, but I think I will. If for nothing else, then because I can use it to remember what has happened. (three of those Is lined up under eachother, it looks scary).
